NEWS & EVENTS

The Alaska Eskimo Whaling Commission hosts three triannual meetings throughout the year, which allows whaling captains from each of our villages to come together to manage the harvest of the bowhead whale, mitigate impacts to the bowhead whale and its habitat, and meet the obligations of its subsistence hunt to the U.S. government and the International Whaling Commission. Meeting information, along with other news and events are updated regularly below.
