MEETINGS
The Alaska Eskimo Whaling Commission hosts three meetings throughout the year. The in-person meetings are critical to conducting business related to its federal and international bowhead whale co-management obligations.
If time allows, the Board may grant permission to individuals and organizations to present projects during regularly scheduled meetings. To request time on the agenda, complete either a Science Day Request or General Request form and submit it to the AEWC.
Science Day Presentations
In 2021, the Alaska Eskimo Whaling Commission established “Science Day,” a full day during two of the organization's triannual meetings dedicated to reviewing and providing input on Arctic research projects.
Made possible by funding from the National Science Foundation, Battelle Arctic Research Operations, and UIC Science, it reduces AEWC’s financial burden caused by increasing engagement requests from the science community.
